Workpages · A second letter from the founders

The next twelve questions are not for us.

Dear Reader,

We told you, in the letter that opened Part Two, that you would write the rest of this book.

This is the part.

Twelve questions, one at a time. In the book they are twelve spreads — the questions on the left, the right side yours. Here, the space below each question is yours.

You can still write your answers in the book itself, by hand. We hope, frankly, that some of you will. A book that ends with handwriting in it is a book that became something its authors did not finish alone. Or you can answer here. Either is fine. Both are generous.

We will read every response. Version Two of this book will be assembled from what you sent us. Where you let us, your name will appear alongside Drucker, Mintzberg, Senge, Boyd, Follett, and the others — because by then, you will be in the lineage. Where you ask to remain anonymous, your words will still appear, attributed to your role and your sector.

The deadline we have given ourselves is one year from publication. The final cut of Version Two will be sent to every contributor before it ships.

Some of these questions are uncomfortable. They are uncomfortable on purpose. The book has not been polite, and we will not start being polite at the end. But we are asking. The answers are not assumed. The answers are why this part of the book is empty.

Thank you for reading this far.

The next twelve questions are not for us.
